BSides Montréal 2026: a look back

BSides is the community's conference: practitioners presenting to practitioners, at a modest ticket price, without a trade floor. The 2026 Montréal edition took place on Saturday, September 19 at the Grande Bibliothèque, from 8:30 to the end-of-day cocktail, with fourteen thirty-minute talks in French and English selected through a call for proposals. Sentrix heads the 2026 sponsor list, alongside Beauceron Security, GoSecure, Flare, Sekoia, ESET and the Communications Security Establishment.

What the team takes away

The topics that came back in the hallways as on stage: initial access through stolen credentials rather than exploits, alert fatigue in detection teams, and the difficulty of turning a technical finding into a governance decision. Three themes that match what we read every day in official advisories and on ransomware leak sites, and that the Know your enemy page documents region by region.
